Effects of Discrimination
Marginalisation is the social method by which a person or possibly a group of people are created marginal or perhaps become relegated to the border of culture. It is when ever someone seems isolated via society, pushed to the advantage of a group and is seen as a less important being. There are various people who are marginalized for who they are for example , people who find themselves experiencing Mental Health problems, kids in proper care, the desolate, travellers, disabled, the foible, elderly, people who have learning troubles, people with experiencing impairments and visually impaired. An example of someone being marginalised is when a disabled person gets left out of activities and socialising by other individuals as they are embarrassed of those. This will generate that person truly feel worthless, depressed, left out, unwanted, ignored, and lonely. Disempowerment
Disempowerment can be making a person or group less effective or self-confident; this is created by other persons or groups that are more powerful than these people. This will effect individuals becoming depressed, devalued and disempowered, which could result in more health problems. In into the social care setting disempowerment means that people have a reduction on the electric power they have to generate their own alternatives and condition their own lives. Self-esteem identifies the overall judgment we have of ourselves as well as the value we place on themselves as people. Low self-esteem means that the tone of the opinion is definitely negative. These types of opinions can be based on previous experiences or the messages that past experiences have given about the person you are. Discrimination can result in individuals shedding their self-pride and self-worth.
