Principles in Place in Relation to HCI and how to Strengthen Them
With designed displays, the user should be in a position to process any information they need generated in a way that their perception is supported, there is situational awareness and they can understand. Currently, Software Engineers are almost there basing the argument on the fact that there are operators who experience difficulties when dealing with the available computer machines.
For example, on perceptual principles there have been witnessed displays that are legible, redundancy gaining, use of discriminable elements and with advocated top-down processing. This is a positive development in HCI. However, in relation to mental principles for instance, the same cannot be stated. HCI practitioners and the Software Engineers have to advance the principle of pictorial realism as well as the moving part principle. This is because; the mental capabilities of individuals vary greatly. There is need for attention to this sector in such a way that a display that can be perceived as to being convenient for every individual can be developed. While still on that, the issues that develop when the principle of consistency and predictive aiding seems to bring contradictions when the definitions are put across, this should be tackled. Further still, the visual information contained in the computer technology should be advanced to help in memorization. The storage of information in the computer software’s should be developed to provide information that can be obtained auditory and visually. This should be catered for while consulting special need’s professionals to cater for individuals such as the blind and the deaf.

Changes in the Workplace due to Computer Technology
The potential of computers as a tool to improve business productivity has been recognized and exploited in the recent past. To begin with, there has been notable automation and improved efficiency. With the computers, the employees are in a position to do repetitive tasks faster and with minimal mistakes. There are “apps” existing in the PCs and mobile phones that in addition to increasing productivity, they offer entertainment.
With database technology maturity, managers run a payroll with the push of a few buttons. Accountants then calculate taxes or create financial reports within a fraction of the time it took pre-IT. Analysts in the workplace then utilize the database and the sophisticated software to identify trends and patterns for specific purposes in the workplace. For instance, the database is essential in generating morbidity and mortality data resulting from Maternal health in a given health facility. The printing and publication have witnessed a massive change as word-processing software and a connected printer have made a massive transformation on the way businesses do business. In the past and the less developed countries, this is still a slow process. Last but not least, there has been a massive change in communication at the workplace. An employee can be working using a laptop and cameras to get the facts he/she would need when she is not in the office. This has allowed individuals to still make money when travelling and still when they are at home.

Managerial decisions taken regarding to HCI
Currently, the advancement in technology has resulted to a situation in which there are advanced mobile phones that have appeared. They bear with them sophisticated computational capabilities. While the leaders and managers tackle the existing HCI concerns, the behavior adopted by the workforce when they are in possession of mobile phones needs to be regulated. In essence, there are duties in the work place that demand that phone calls should be conducted. As the managers take vital decisions and establish regulations on the computer usage, this sector should be considered as well.
Managers have consulted far and wide in dealing with HCI issues. For instance, when it comes to control the internet usage, Software have been developed to control this. The leaders have attended conferences on this issue which helps them to form basis before taking one decision. The mobile phones usage has witnessed regulation in which the mobile phones should be maintained on silent mode or completely switched off during working hours especially when dealing with customers or clients. When dealing with the internet, there are strict measures to be taken when one is found accessing immoral websites such as pornography, social media such as Twitter and Facebook and any other website that is not related to the work that one engages in.
In the success of control such unwanted behavior, most organizations have called for and adopted the system in which software engineers and HCI practitioners in designing decisions that in relation to User Interface. Eventually, the decisions made relating to HCI issues are collaborative. The software engineers, HCI practitioners and the organization’s management come together in establishing policies and giving a final say in relation to HCI.
